Centralia Free Methodist Church (CFMC) partners with GriefShare a network of thousands of grief recovery groups throughout the world. GriefShare is a group process designed to help you successfully travel the journey from mourning to joy. GriefShare compliments CFMC’s mission by helping individuals experience grief recovery as a healing process, so that we might better love God, love people, and make disciples of Jesus.  In each GriefShare session our facilitators guide the group through a video presentation and discussion.

The GriefShare videos feature interviews with leading authors, counselors, speakers, and pastors with years of expertise in grief recovery. You are welcome to begin attending the GriefShare group at any session. Each session is “self-contained,” so you do not have to attend in sequence. You will find encouragement and help whenever you begin.

Children’s worship for age 4 through 5th grade

Part way through our 9:30 worship service on Sundays, children are dismissed to continue their worship in the Godly Play room. The children are dismissed after the worship service ends, to meet parents, or to go on to Sunday school.

Sunday School

From 10:45-11:30, kids 4 years old through 5th grade have a more traditional Sunday school class.  This time often includes songs, a bible lesson, crafts, and games.
About Godly Play
Do you remember the last time someone told you a good story? One that you listened to with rapt attention? That held you fascinated? One where you could visualize the setting and the action? The feeling you got when it was over, having questions, wanting it to continue?
The art of storytelling is still alive in Godly Play. Trained storytellers (our teachers) bring bible stories, parables and language of our Christian Faith alive with beautiful, thought out props and wooden story creations. Children listen, wonder and have the ability to ask questions. The presence of God in our life is often made known in simple, quiet moments. Godly Play is not high tech, it is not packaged with all of the answers. It allows our children the time and space to sit and reflect on a message and wonder about our stories and our language as Christian people. Through Godly Play, we respect the innate spirituality of children and encourage curiosity and imagination in experiencing the mystery and joy of God.
